dc.title | Potato Pulp, Wheat Bran Evaluated For Swine | en_US |
dc.type | Article | en_US |
dc.description | The swine industry in North Dakota were based on barley and oats as the main energy feed sources. Two other food by-products could complement swine standard swine feed. These are potato pulp and wheat bran. Experiments were designed to evaluate fibrous, bulky potato pulp and wheat bran as energy sources in practical, pelleted swine rations. Three experiments involving a total of 142 animals
were conducted to measure the performance of swine fed rations containing three levels of potato pulp and three levels of wheat bran. The findings are presented in this article. These experiments indicated that the addition of 15 % wheat bran to pelleted barley rations had no effect on average daily gains. | |
