The article begins with an overview of the importance of the mineral zinc to plants. Potatoes grown in North Dakota respond favorably to the application of zinc sprays to the foliage. IT was necessary to be able to ascertain the zinc content of potato plants through samples of their leaves. There was no appreciable difference in the zinc content of the samples obtained from different areas, wide ranges being observed in every area sampled.
