The author explains how there are essentially two types of barley: that which is used for malting and that which is not. A high protein content for feed is desirable. The grinding of barley was recommended for swine. The advantages in pelleting of barley was cited. Next, the author discusses the advantages of pelleting oats and other grains for feed. Screenings were not recommended. Thin barley was deemed only 90 % as heavier barley. Sometimes, corn is used to supplement barley feeds. Barley should be pulverized before fine grinding for feeds.
