dc.description | The topic is nitrogen fertilizers. The article begins with nitrogen release in soil in organic matter by micro-organisms. Soil moisture aids this process. The application of nitrogen on both fallow and non-fallow soils is discussed. Several trial studies are reviewed. Even though the data obtained to date indicate that an application of 20-40 pounds of nitrogen (N) per acre would be adequate for maximum crop production of small grains on most soils, further investigations were required. | |
