There were more than 30,00 different economic plant diseases in the United States at this time. Roughly, a half a million pounds of fungicides were used annually. Problems facing farmers trying to grow specific areas without the use of chemicals was discussed. A survey given to farmers helps pathologists and other residents records of where certain disease were appearing. This aids in addressing these diseases.
