High and Low Energy Diets for Chicksen_US
Articleen_US
The authors discussed the diets of growing chicks using North Dakota ingredients. Also, they wanted to demonstrate the effects of recently found nutritional principles. The effect of varying protein and energy levels on growth and feed efficiency, and the effects of unidentified growth substances were compared, also. Two trials using starter chick rations were conducted and discussed. In general, a combination of protein ingredients improves the efficiency of protein utilization for body tissue synthesis. Energy from fats, carbohydrates and proteins are additive in meeting the body requirement. The addition of growth substances singly or in combination beyond the amount required for a single growth factor, as a rule, will not improve the growth response greatly.
