As first world countries become more conscious of the carbon footprint in the environment, many resorts continue to excessively use natural resources. This thesis intends to redesign the existing prototype in resorts by proposing a sustainable operational model. The intent is to broaden the knowledge and raise environmental awareness of the guests throughout their stay. I intend to design an ecological resort that will promote waste minimalism, energy and water preservation with minimal disturbance to the wildlife habitat, in the northern Minnesota region.
