The NDSU Archives staff are responsible for the careful preservation of rare artifacts, and as of 2019, “The Gouerment of Cattel” is the oldest book in their collection. Published in London in 1637, the book is written in Old English and includes step-by-step instructions for taking care of cattle. The book’s linen pages ensure that the words will be clear for years to come. | |
