dc.description | An Indigenous flatworm species, Dugesia tigrina (Girard), was tested for use as a
biological control of mosquitoes In temporary pools In North Dakota. Pools with mosquito
populations were stocked with flatworms at densities ranging from 100 to 1000
per pool. Mosquito populations were monitored throughout the season. Flatworm
populations were assessed at the end of the season. Flatworm populations increased
over the season but mosquito populations were not effectively controlled by the flatworms. | en |
