A study concerning the usage of sunflower oil in a typical farm tractor diesel fuel systme (injection pump, fuel lines, filters and injectors) were tested on a test stand at various temperatures using sunflower oil, diesel fuel and mixtures of the two as fuels. The measurements taken were fuel volume delivered by the injector, pressure at the injector, pressure drop across the filter, transfer pump pressure and the fuel injection timing. It was concluded that low amounts of sunflower oil could be used during summer months.
