In 1982, very little information was available of the value of the addition of sunflower seeds to pig feed diets. A couple of studies addressing this question are reviewed. It was discovered that swine should not be fed more than 10% sunflower seeds in their diets as exceeding such produces deleterious effects upon carcass quality with only minimal benefit in weight gains and overall feed efficiency.
