The report on the Missouri River Basin (House Document No. 475, 78th Congress, 2d Session) received by Congress early in March 1944, made public the so-called Pick Plan for the comprehensive development of the Missouri River. The Bureau of Reclamation issued a report dealing with the same subject on May 1, 1944. These two reports from such high engineering authorities present different plans for the Missouri River, one by engineers long skilled in river control and navigation and the other by specialists in irrigation. Confusion has resulted in the minds or all people interested in the subject because of these two plans. The present report will discuss these two plans and will suggest a solution of the present difficulties.en_US
