dc.descriptionThis article summarises an annual survey of the production, pest problems, pesticide use and grower practices of 'Northarvest Bean Growers Association', dry bean growers in North Dakota and Minnesota, which began in 1987. The survey was broken down into: varieties, irrigated acres, chemigation, seed source, soil type, weather and production problems, land preparation, disease problems, fungicide use, production problems, weed problems, herbicide usage, insect problems and insecticide use. The NBGA comprised 10 districts in the two states. This survey was mailed to 3,975 growers on their list. Surveys were anonymous, except for the district survey recipients lived.The results of these surveys is presented in 18 rather detailed tables.
