dc.description | GThe article is concerning Perezia pyra ustae Paillot, a protozoan infection of the European corn borer Ostrinia nubilalis, which was first described in 1927 by a gentleman named 'Paillot' in France. By 1959, the larvae was discovered in several states in the U.S. A study to help determine the incidence and intensity of P. pyraustae infection in European corn borer populations in North Dakota is reviewed in this article. The statewide average intensity of infection was light. Incidence and intensity of infection were generally highest in the southeast and the intensity of infection was heavy near Fargo and Walhalla in 1969. Other areas were intermediate. | |
