Abstract
Description
A study to conducted to add to the blood constituents of young calves was discussed in this article. This would be useful with the formulation of approaches to calf disease control. It was hoped in addition that this additional information would aid in the identification of those animals with poor disease resistance. Information received from purchasers
of 103 individual young calves offered at auction during fall of 1965 and winter and spring of 1966 revealed a very low
mortality rate. The reduction of stress at this particular auction was credited with a reduced mortality rate in calves.
