Abstract
Description
This gives insight into water systems for farms in 1950. These systems could be placed in several locations. Sanitary regulations did not permit an installation without a positive (gravity) drain. Given such, in many contexts, this did not allow for these systems to be located in the basement of a house or in a well pit. In 1949, several system installations were made above the ground using insulated pump houses. During the winter of 1949-50, four above ground houses were under observation and records were taken on the electrical consumption for supplementary heating. The article gives more details on these.
