Abstract
Description
In 1949, flax seed was treated with selective herbicides along with other plant species for weed control. It was wondered if this treatment would affect the yield, oil content, iodine number of the oil and the protein content of the seed of flax. This paper reviews a study undertaken to determine the effect of 2,4-D amine spray on the value of the flax crop, when used at the recommended level. The crop was retarded slightly by the spray. If weeds are present, which can be eliminated by spraying, one might benefit with increased yields due to weed removal.
