dc.descriptionThe North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station named and released two barley varieties from 1971-73, Beacon and Nordic. The hybridization, selection and development of Beacon and Nordic were done at North Dakota State University. The histories of Beacon and Nordic barley, their agronomic characteristics, disease reactions; and malting qualities and, plant scale tests are given.
