Abstract
Description
In an increased urbanization of the US, the role of children was diminished as contributors to the family unit's survival economically. However, to label all children as non-contributors would be a fallacy. A survey was taken in North Dakota questioning mothers concerning their child(rens) contributions to the family structure. Also, the characteristics of the mothers was taken into account. In final analysis, while child in urban contexts were viewed as contributing less or not at all, those children in rural contexts on farms were viewed quite differently as contributing substantially.
