The influence on overwintering survival and spring pupation in corn borer populations, a protozoan, Perezia pyaustae is the focus of the study for discussed in this writing. Larvae of the European corn borer Ostrinia nubilalis (Hbn.) from populations infected with varying levels of the protozoan, Perezia pyraustae Paillot, were collected and exposed to winter conditions at Fargo, North Dakota in 1968-1969 and 1969-1970. There was no direct evidence that Perezia infection predisposed death.
