Abstract

Description

The rapid spread of the European corn borer in North Dakota was discussed. It first appeared in the state in August 1946 in Hillsboro, N.D. The rapidity and extent of this spread in 1949 was apparently due to the dominance of the two-brooded strain and the prevailing southerly winds of the past season which aided the moths in their dispersal. A field survey collecting specimens to determine parasitism of this pest was discussed.
