dc.descriptionThe article covers a 5 year study addressing the effects of clipping on the mixed grass prairie western North Dakota. Early harvests typically increased composition and the yield of forbs and blue grama, the warm season grass component. Whereas, it slightly reduced the cool season graminold component. Most changes in the plant communities due to clipping treatments did not occur until the final years of this study.
