The annual monthly average number of workers on North Dakota farms declined from 128,000 in 1950 to 63,000 in 1968, a drop of 51 %. The number of farms declined from 66,000 in 1950 to an estimated 45,000 in 1968. In 1968, one worker, on an average, handles about 666 acres compared with 334 acres in 1950.
