Sunflower seed yields can be increased by applying nitrogen fertilizer on many non-fallow soils. The amount of nitrogen fertilizer required depends on the yield goal and amount of soil test nitrate-N in the soil at planting time. Information is presented on response data of oil-type sunflower seed yield, oil concentration and oil yield to applied fertilizer and soil nitrogen at 23 locations.en
