From 1976-78, twelve durum wheat cultivars were evaluated for their susceptibility to the common root and crown rot caused by Helminthosporium sativum. Two cultivars, the Edmore and the Wakooma, both showed outstanding resistance to root rot. Rolette and Calvin were more prone to this condition.
