The Web Based Meeting Scheduler

Abstract

In this paper I present a Web based Meeting Scheduler which is a web-based easy to use group calendar application for scheduling events, reserving meeting rooms and scheduling meetings. Meetings and events may be scheduled for invitees within an organization as well as prospective customers and clients from outside the organization by adding the following website (www.meetingscheduler.org) to the address bar of a browser. Any user with an account on the system can choose a meeting date from the calendar and provide the subject for the meeting, a description, the location and any specific conference room information. A meeting may be set up for one or more dates and include multiple time frames from available time slots. A user selects the attendees, enters the RSVPs and sends the invitations to mail boxes with a verification link. A user may also share files including the agenda with the attendees. This Web Based Meeting Scheduler is developed on a modular Internet/Intranet application framework. It features a scheduler, meeting calendar, messaging, an address book, file upload and download and feedback. The system employs an easy to intuit "wizard like" interface to encourage online collaboration.
