dc.description | Cankerworms caused much damage to shelterbelts in the northern Great Plains. The bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis (Berliner) demonstrated considerable effectiveness against both varieties of cankerworms. However, improvement in formulations and application techniques were needed. This article describes an investigation which was initiated in 1975 to evaluate ground fogging equipment for the dispersal of B. thuringiensis. A cold fogger and a thermal logger were effective in dispersiog the entomogenou bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (in Tburicide 16B) in shelterbelts. | |
