In 1981, the disease 'calf scours' still claimed the lives of more calves than any other calf disease in the state of North Dakota. In 1975, the North Beef Commission requested that a study be made of calf scour losses. This was a statewide cooperative project between the North Dakota Beef Commission, the Cooperative Extension Service, veterinarians and livestock producers in selected areas of North Dakota and the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. This article goes into detail on this project.
