Description

Those factors for the costs of producing small grains in North Dakota are presented. These will vary with the practice used and the area of the state crops are grown in. In North Dakota, two types of cropping systems are used: crops planted on land that was summer fallowed the previous year and crops planted on land that was cropped the previous year. The per-acre cost of production for small grains increases from west to east in the state. The various sources of costs of costs include the land, labor costs, so forth. A list of the procedures to determine the cropping system that will return the highest farm income includes is given.
