This work discusses a hybrid power conversion scheme consisting of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind energy system and photovoltaic panels. The two energy sources are integrated with a battery to store extra photovoltaic energy during the day and to meet any additional power requirement in the absence of sunlight. The PV panel is interfaced to the battery through a SEPIC converter for maximum power point tracking. The wind energy from the PMSG is supplied to the battery through a boost converter which regulates the output. The total power obtained from the hybrid system is fed to a three-phase load through an inverter implementing Space-vector pulse-width modulation. The controller modeled in MATLAB/Simulink software is simple and is implemented through real time simulation using dSPACE hardware.en_US
