dc.description.abstract | The goal of this thesis is to explore the effects on a city’s density in correlation with the needs of that city. In certain areas, there is a growing need of housing. This absence results in longer commutes and less economic opportunity for the city itself. New housing can result from new developments or the reuse of wasted or unused structures. With proper affordable housing for new residents a city can see happier residents, less congestion in the traffic system, and a boost in economy. Affordable units will be assured through simplistic design and material choices. | |
