Primary motivations for this research direction have been the need for scientific investigations of public concerns about possible adverse accumulation of nutrients in the environment and awareness that efficient use of fertilizer materials and management of soil salinity are important aspects of planning for profitable production. Our purpose in this article is to outline past accomplishments and to give a more detailed picture of our present efforts.North Dakota State UniversitySoil waterSoilStudying Water, Salt and Nutrient Movement in North Dakota SoilsArticle
