"Journey to America: Narrative Short Stories" Added To Collection

The publication Journey to America: Narrative Short Stories, Vol. 4, has been added to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection.  The following comes from the forward:

“Students at Fargo South High School and Fargo Davies High School wrote nonfiction narrative short stories about their journeys as refugees or immigrants to America.  During Leah Juelke’s and Peggy Pulst’s Ell English 4 classes, students were inspired after meeting local refugee and immigrant community members and reading examples of previous narrative stories.  At South, students also participated in a Narrative 4 story exchange with a senior English class comprised of mostly native English speakers.  Imagine Thriving Mental Health Specialists worked with students as well.  During the writing phase, students drafted their own stories and went through multiple editing workshops to create a finished product.  Volunteers from around the community provided technical writing support for students during the workshops. This book holds the intriguing stories of Fargo high school students from around the world.”
