New book, "Energizing the Peace Garden State" donated to collection

The book, Energizing the Peace Garden State, By David Dahle, has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection, by the author.

This book covers the history of the electric utilities serving towns within North Dakota from the 1880s up to the present.  The preface states: “This book hopes to provide a glimpse into the past when almost every town had its own light plant.  The timelines of some earlier ‘high-line’ companies that became the foundation of the electric utility ‘grid’ in North Dakota today are also documented in this book.”
