Ryckman Family history donated to NDSU Archives

A new published family history has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection by the author Dr. Kathie Ryckman Anderson.  The book is entitled “The Ryckman Family in Dakota and North Dakota: Prepared for 125th Anniversary of the Ryckman Family Farm, 1888 to 2013”.  The Ryckman family was of Dutch ancestry.  They first settled in the New Netherland colony in American in the 1600s.  The branch of the family featured in the book, moved to Canada before coming to Dakota Territory where they settling near the community of Westfield, in Emmons County.  The bulk of the book follows the family or Fred and Mary (Boschker) Ryckman.  The archives extends a warm thank you for the donation.
