International Open Access Week • October 22-28, 2018
What is open access? It is the:
“free, immediate, online availability of research articles coupled with the rights to use these articles fully in the digital environment. Open Access ensures that anyone can access and use these results—to turn ideas into industries and breakthroughs into better lives.”
- Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC)
Open Access week is an annual global event. Its purpose is to create an opportunity for the research community to learn more about the benefits of open access and to inspire the research community to make more of their outputs open access.
NDSU Libraries supports open access in a variety of ways:
Visit our Institutional Repository to find university records, archival images, theses and dissertations, Extension Service publications, past publications of the Spectrum, Northern Eclecta, It’s Happening at State, and much more.
Learn about how the Libraries supports Student Government initiatives for the adoption of Open Education Resources.
Please visit our page to learn about getting started with open access and visit SPARC’s International Open Access Week website to find out more.
