Abstract: Photographic image. Black and white. Cabinet photograph of a couple. Man seated in wooden chair with legs crossed at ankles. Woman standing right with hand over man’s shoulder. She has medium color bodice with wide pleated bands running from shoulders to cross at waist; bodice has lacy insert in front. Sleeves are modified gigot. She wears a dark skirt with large rectangular buckle and has a ring on her right hand. Hair is modified pompadour. Background is hillside with long vegetation; plant in wooden crate by woman. Inscribed on back: “An meine Kousin [female] Christina Oberlander/ Gottfried Lehr[?]/ Grandma & Grandpa Oberlander/ their marriage/ Friedrich & Christina.” Identified as a portrait of Friedrich and Christina (Brose) Oberlander.
