Description: This article discuses the many problems associated with flax seed plants with poor stands such as deep seeding, soil crusting, a dry or lumpy seedbed, herbicide injury and other variables. The need for discovering optimum seed planting rates which would produce the healthiest stands was highlighted. Those criteria to produce those flax plants with the best stands were presented, also.
