Title: A Study of Farmer Grain Marketing Practices
Author: Thomson, Don; Anderson, Don
Description: A mail survey was made of grain farmers in east-central North Dakota during the summer of 1974 to determine their production, storage and marketing practices. Farmers in the study reported price received as the most important consideration in selecting the elevator at which to sell their grain. Other factors were fast, efficient grain handling service and availability of timely, accurate market information. Time of sale, sales to local elevators, hauling grain, the amount of farm storage, grain inspections and grading, type and accessibility, farm expansion plans, membership in marketing associations were discussed.
