Database Description
Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia (EBSCO)

This encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics. The database contains images and brief biographies as well as information in a variety of subject areas.

GENE-TOX (Genetic Toxicology)

GENE-TOX was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and has genetic toxicology test results on over 3,200 chemicals. Selected literature was reviewed by scientific experts for each of the test systems under evaluation.

GENE-TOX provides historical information from the years 1991-1998.  It is no longer updated.

General Science Collection (Gale Cengage)

A collection of over 200 journals -- including such topics as particle physics, advanced mathematics, and nanotechnology.

GeoRef and GeoRef in Process (ProQuest)

Produced by the American Geological Institute, GeoRef is a comprehensive geosciences database. Over 3,500 journals are reviewed for indexing in the GeoRef database as well as books, maps, government reports, conference papers, and theses and dissertations. GeoRef In Process does NOT contain the most current records and should not be confused with a database of Recent References.

GeoScienceWorld

GeoScienceWorld (GSW) is a nonprofit collaborative and comprehensive Internet resource for research and communications in the earth sciences, which is built on a core database of peer-reviewed journals and is integrated with the GeoRef abstract and index service. The organization gives global researchers a single point of access to 44 full-text scholarly journals plus specialized searching capabilities and links to millions of relevant resources hosted elsewhere on the Web.

Global Rangelands

Provides links to more than 12,000 journal articles, websites, images, databases, videos, maps, reports, and decision making/educational tools about rangelands and rangeland management.

GovInfo

GPO’s GovInfo provides free online access to official publications from all three branches of the Federal Government. 

GPO Monthly Catalog (GPO)

Index to all types of U.S. government documents, including Congressional reports, hearings, debates, and records, judiciary materials, and documents issued by federal departments 1976-present. Produced by the U.S. Government Printing Office.

GreenFILE (EBSCO)

Multidisciplinary database about the intersection between the environment and disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology. Topics covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.

Grove Music Online (Oxford)

Encyclopedia articles from The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians and others, including The New Grove Dictionary of Opera and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz. Includes sound examples. This resource is limited to 3 simultaneous users.

Harvard Business Review Press eBook Collection (EBSCO) - TRIAL

To help lessen the pressure placed on libraries to support online instruction during the COVID-19 outbreak, EBSCO and Harvard Business Publishing have waived all costs for libraries to access the Harvard Business Review E-Book Subscription Collection until June 9, 2020.

Health & Psychosocial Instruments (EBSCO)

A database that provides access to information on questionnaires, interview schedules, checklists, coding schemes, rating scales in the fields of health and psychosocial sciences.

Health & Safety Science Abstracts (ProQuest)

This database provides a comprehensive, timely survey of recent work relating to public health, safety and industrial hygiene.

Health Source - Consumer Edition (EBSCO)

This database is a collection of consumer health information, providing information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Health Source - Nursing/Academic Edition (EBSCO)

This database focuses on a wide variety of medical disciplines and also features the Lexi-PAL Drug Guide, which covers 1,300 generic drug patient education sheets with more than 4,700 brand names.

HeinOnline

HeinOnline is a fully searchable, image-based government document and legal research database. It contains coverage from inception of both U.S. statutory materials, U.S. Congressional Documents and more than 2,600 scholarly journals, all of the world's constitutions, all U.S. treaties, collections of classic treatises and presidential documents, and access to the full text of state and federal case law powered by Fastcase. This Government, Politics & Law HeinOnline’s database package includes, among other things, special collections on Criminal Justice, History, Foreign Relations, Religion and the Law and Women and the Law.

Historical Abstracts (EBSCO)

Representing scholarship from more than 90 countries, the database includes book citations, dissertations and theses, and coverage extends to related disciplines such as archeology, anthropology and sociology.

Homeland Security Digital Library (HSDL)

The Homeland Security Digital Library is composed of homeland security related documents collected from a wide variety of sources.

HSDB® (Hazardous Substances Data Bank)

HSDB provides toxicity data for over 5,800 potentially hazardous chemicals. It also has information on emergency handling procedures, industrial hygiene, environmental fate, human exposure, detection methods, and regulatory requirements. The data are fully referenced and reviewed by a Scientific Review Panel.

IET Digital Library - TRIAL

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) high-quality book portfolio provides a comprehensive resource for the engineering and technology community and covers reference and emerging topics in A.I., cyber security, big data, computing, healthcare technologies, electromagnetics, sensors, circuits, devices, systems, electrical, unmanned vehicles, mechanical, power, energy, sonar, radar, electronic warfare, and computer science. This free trial is available until June 30, 2020, and includes the following:

IMF’s Statistical Databases

Includes international and government financial statistics as well as balance of payment and trade statistics. Time series data for more than 194 countries, including commodity prices, exchange rates, exports and imports, and population.

Summaries of studies relating to all aspects of immune systems in humans and animals, including normal functions and disorders

Industrial and Applied Microbiology Abstracts (Microbiology A) (ProQuest)

This database contains significant findings and practical applications in agricultural, food and beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

Industry Profiles in Business Source Premier (EBSCO)

The Business Source Premier database contains industry profile reports from Datamonitor. Each profile contains market overview, size, segmentation, competitive landscape, leading companies, forecasts, and definitions.

International Code Council Online Library

Reference book for educational researchers and practitioners.

IPA Source

IPA Source is a library of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts.

Jazz Music Library (Alexander Street Press)

A collection of streaming jazz which includes thousands of jazz artists, ensembles, albums, and genres.

Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism

Includes entries and subentries on critics and theorists, critical schools and movements, and the critical and theoretical innovations of specific countries and historical periods.

Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics)

Journal performance metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor and Eigenfactor®. Provides a variety of impact and influence metrics based on citation data.

JSTOR - Journal Storage (ITHAKA)

JSTOR includes academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.

KCI-Korean Journal Database (Clarivate Analytics)

Provides access to articles from multidisciplinary journals covered in KCI. KCI is managed by the National Research Foundation of Korea and contains bibliographic information for scholarly literature published in Korea.

Key Business Ratios Online (Mergent)

Provides industry financial benchmarks from Dun & Bradstreet, with the ability to input and export financial data.

LactMed® (Drugs and Lactation)

LactMed is a database of over 1,000 drugs and other chemicals to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. It includes information on the levels of such substances in breast milk and infant blood, and the possible adverse effects in the nursing infant. Suggested therapeutic alternatives to those drugs are provided, where appropriate. All data are derived from the scientific literature and fully referenced. Data are organized into substance-specific records, which provide a summary of the pertinent reported information and include links to other NLM databases. Supplemental links to breastfeeding resources from credible organizations are also provided. LactMed is updated monthly.

Lawrence Welk Music Arrangements Index (NDSU)

Provides access to some 10,000 original arrangements used by the Welk Orchestra and individual performers spanning from the 1950s to 1980s. The data is from a card file developed by the Welk staff that came as part of the donation of the Welk Collection to North Dakota State University in 1993.

LEEDuser Premium (BuildingGreen)

Documentation and forums to assist in meeting the requirements for LEED building credits.

Lexicomp (Wolters Kluwer)

A collection of drug monographs and clinical tools that provide users with robust clinical drug information.

Library of Congress Collections with Audio Recordings

The Library of Congress contains tens of thousands of audio recordings.  Browse their collections for quick descriptions of covered topics.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts - LISTA (EBSCO)

Database that covers librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more going back to the mid-1960's.

Literary Encyclopedia

Includes authoritative reference work about literary and cultural history. All articles are solicited by invitation from specialist scholars in higher education institutions all over the world, refereed and approved by subject editors.

Literary Reference Center Plus (EBSCO)

Combines information from major reference works, books, and literary journals author; including biographies, plot summaries and full-text essays. It also includes literary reference books and monographs, literary magazines and book reviews, poems, short stories, classic texts, author interviews and more.

MasterFILE Premier (EBSCO)

Multidisciplinary database with full text for nearly 1,700 periodicals. Also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an image collection of over 592,000 photos, maps & flags.

Materials Business File - 1985-current (ProQuest)

Comprehensive coverage of the business and industry aspect of materials science, engineering, aerospace and advanced technologies. Covers news, product and process developments, plant development and construction, international trade data, government regulations and management.

Materials Science Collection (ProQuest)

Contains materials science related full-text articles, access to millions of figures and tables within articles, and the entire range of bibliographic records from the Materials Research Database.

MathSciNet - Mathematical Reviews on the Web (American Mathematical Society)

An electronic publication offering access to reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences literature. Over 100,000 new items are added each year.

Mechanical & Transportation Engineering Abstracts - 1966-current (ProQuest)

Provides citations, abstracts, and indexing of the serials literature in mechanical and transportation engineering and their complementary fields.
