Reference book for educational researchers and practitioners.

IPA Source

IPA Source is a library of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts.

Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism

Includes entries and subentries on critics and theorists, critical schools and movements, and the critical and theoretical innovations of specific countries and historical periods.

Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics)

Journal performance metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor and Eigenfactor®. Provides a variety of impact and influence metrics based on citation data.

JSTOR - Journal Storage (ITHAKA)

JSTOR includes academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.

NDSU subscribes to the following archival journal collections: Arts & Sciences I, II, III, IV, VII, and VIII, as well as the Language and Literature and Life Sciences collections. For more information on collection subject coverage and title lists, please visit http://about.jstor.org/journals.

Temporary expanded coverage includes access to unsubscribed content through June 30, 2021. This includes 26 journal archives in public health, and more than 6,000 articles related to COVID-19.

KCI-Korean Journal Database (Clarivate Analytics)

Provides access to articles from multidisciplinary journals covered in KCI. KCI is managed by the National Research Foundation of Korea and contains bibliographic information for scholarly literature published in Korea.

Key Business Ratios Online (Mergent)

Provides industry financial benchmarks from Dun & Bradstreet, with the ability to input and export financial data.

LactMed® (Drugs and Lactation)

LactMed is a database of over 1,000 drugs and other chemicals to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. It includes information on the levels of such substances in breast milk and infant blood, and the possible adverse effects in the nursing infant. Suggested therapeutic alternatives to those drugs are provided, where appropriate. All data are derived from the scientific literature and fully referenced. Data are organized into substance-specific records, which provide a summary of the pertinent reported information and include links to other NLM databases. Supplemental links to breastfeeding resources from credible organizations are also provided. LactMed is updated monthly.

Lawrence Welk Music Arrangements Index (NDSU)

Provides access to some 10,000 original arrangements used by the Welk Orchestra and individual performers spanning from the 1950s to 1980s. The data is from a card file developed by the Welk staff that came as part of the donation of the Welk Collection to North Dakota State University in 1993.

Database that covers librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more going back to the mid-1960's.

Literary Encyclopedia

Includes authoritative reference work about literary and cultural history. All articles are solicited by invitation from specialist scholars in higher education institutions all over the world, refereed and approved by subject editors.

Literary Reference Center Plus (EBSCO)

Combines information from major reference works, books, and literary journals author; including biographies, plot summaries and full-text essays. It also includes literary reference books and monographs, literary magazines and book reviews, poems, short stories, classic texts, author interviews and more.

MasterFILE Complete (EBSCO)

Multidisciplinary database with full text for nearly 1,700 periodicals. Also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an image collection of over 592,000 photos, maps & flags.

MathSciNet - Mathematical Reviews on the Web (American Mathematical Society)

An electronic publication offering access to reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences literature. Over 100,000 new items are added each year.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine® (NLM®) premier life sciences database.

MEDLINE (EBSCO)

MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 5,400 current biomedical journals.

Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print (EBSCO)

This database provides a comprehensive guide to over 3,000 contemporary testing instruments. Contains information essential for complete evaluation of test products in diverse areas such as psychology, education, business, and leadership.

Mergent Archives (Mergent)

The Annual Reports archive provides over 700,000 annual company reports for US and international companies going back to the early 1900s. The Key Business Ratios archive includes industry financial ratios going back to the late 1970s.

Mergent Intellect (Mergent)

Includes private company data on over 100 million companies as well as public company data downloadable to spreadsheets, First Research Industry Reports, D&B Key Business Ratios (industry financial ratios), executive contacts and White Pages Pro, and demographic data from Nielsen.

MetaLib (GPO)

Searches multiple U.S. Federal government databases, retrieving reports, articles, and citations while providing direct links to selected resources available online.

MICROMEDEX Gateway (IBM)

Provides data on drug ingredients, their effects, and their clinical significance; including dosing, pharmacokinetics, cautions, clinical applications, identification, comparative efficacy, and place in therapy. Special emphasis is placed on drug interactions with a focus on minimizing adverse drug events.

Information about voting and elections from the Minnesota Secretary of State.

 

MLA Directory of Periodicals (EBSCO)

Contains information about the journals and book series most likely to publish material related to language and literature. It offers detailed information on over 5,500 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the International Bibliography.

MLA International Bibliography (ESBCO)

Provides a subject index for books and articles published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics. It offers a detailed bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations.

Music Database (ProQuest)

Idexes and provides full-text for several hundred international music periodicals from over 20 countries dating back to 1874. Subjects covered include music education, performance, ethnomusicology, musical theatre, theory, popular music forms and composition. Formerly known as International Index to Music Periodicals.

Music Index (EBSCO)

Guide to music periodicals and literature featuring digitized content from 1970 to present. Contains cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts of articles about music, musicians, and the music industry, as well as book reviews, obituaries, and news.

NASS - National Agricultural Statistics Service Quick Stats 2.0 (USDA)

Quick Stats 2.0 is the most comprehensive tool for accessing agricultural data published by NASS. It allows you to discover exactly the information you desire, whether it is based on commodity, location, or time period. You can then visualize the data on a map, manipulate and export the results, or save a link for future use.

NASS - National Agricultural Statistics Service Statistics by Subjects (USDA)

Obtain an agricultural statistics profile for a particular subject area or commodity. Data is currently available in the following areas: crops and plants, livestock and animals, and economics.

National Technical Reports Library (U.S. Department of Commerce)

Worldwide searching for federally funded bibliographic science and technology research information is now free on the basic Public Access NTRL website.  The Public Access NTRL is open to all users (domestic and international) for search and discovery.  To further enhance your search results with the full-text document, you must register and accept the "Terms and Conditions of Use" of NTRL.

Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center)

This database is a premier source for evidence-based information about natural and herbal remedies and includes information about effectiveness, dosing, interactions, adverse effects, and mechanisms of action. 

Natural Science Collection (ProQuest)

The Natural Science Collection includes the Agri & Env, Bio Science, and Earth, Atmospheric & Aqua Databases and provides full-text titles from around the world including scholarly journals, trade and industry journals, magazines, technical reports, conference proceedings, government publications and more. For researchers who need to conduct comprehensive literature reviews, this database includes specialized, editorial-controlled A&I resources for discovery of relevant scholarly research and technical literature critical to the discipline.

Naxos Music Library (Naxos Digital Services)

Music streaming database offers the complete Naxos and Marco Polo catalogues plus the complete catalogues or selected titles from classical, jazz and world music labels. This resource is limited to 15 simultaneous users.

NBER Working Papers (National Bureau of Economics Research)

A collection of working papers in economics and finance. They are intended to make results of NBER research available to other economists in preliminary form to encourage discussion and suggestions for revision before publication.

Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) Global Search

The Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) is an international organization dedicated to promoting the adoption, creation, use, dissemination, and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). You can use the Global ETD Search to locate over 5 million electronic theses and dissertations contained in the NDLTD archive.

NIH RePORTER (National Institutes of Health Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tools Expenditures and Results)

A searchable repository of NIH-funded research projects and access publications and patents resulting from NIH funding.

North Dakota Biography Index (NDSU)

An ongoing project of the NDSU Institute for Regional Studies provides access to biographical sketches found in a wide variety of North Dakota publications. Currently contains some 250,000 names from published biographical sketches of North Dakotans. Names continue to be added on a regular basis. Consult the Institute's information page for the scope and content of the records and for ordering copies.

North Dakota Naturalization Records Index (NDSU)

Compiled at the State Historical Society of North Dakota, where all original county naturalization records are preserved and have been microfilmed. In cooperation with the NDSU Institute for Regional Studies, the index is made available as a searchable database.

A collection of 26 newspapers published in North Dakota from the Access World News database.

The official website for voting and elections from the North Dakota Secretary of State.

Nursing and Allied Health eBook Collection (Credo)

Credo's Nursing & Allied Health Collection addresses key study needs of post-secondary students as well as professionals in health-related disciplines. Topics include: Advanced Nursing, Emergency Medicine, Mental Health, Physical Therapy, Pediatric Nursing, Respiratory Care, and Pharmaceutical with titles from several notable health publishers, including Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Elsevier, F.A. Davis Company, Springer, Demos Medical Publishing, and Wiley.

Official Methods of Analysis (AOAC)

Publishes standardized, chemical analysis methods designed to increase confidence in results of chemical and microbiologic analyses.

Open Textbook Library

Open textbooks are textbooks that have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed. These books have been reviewed by faculty from a variety of colleges and universities to assess their quality. These books can be downloaded for no cost, or printed at low cost. All textbooks are either used at multiple higher education institutions; or affiliated with an institution, scholarly society, or professional organization.
