What is Open Access?
Open access (OA) literature is online, free to read and download, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions.
Although most people agree with the definition of OA as free to read and download, not all people believe that OA also needs to be free of copyright and licensing restrictions. To learn more, see How Open Is It?
To learn more about OA and its history, visit Open Access Overview, or read Open Access by Peter Suber. Check out the print version in the library (Main Library Stacks – 2nd Floor Z286.O63 S83 2012) or read the e-book.
