Biography

Born Bessie Halpern in Romania, family immigrated in 1901. First settled in Minneapolis, later moved to Fargo. Wed Max Schwartz in 1908. They settled at Dickinson, N.D., later moved to Belfield, N.D. where they managed a general store. Sold the store in 1924 and returned to Minneapolis.
