A 1917 USDA Flax Seed Publication Donated

Published On: November 27, 2018

A 1917 United States Department of Agriculture, Farmers Bulletin 785, entitled Seed-Flax Production, by Charles H. Clark, has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection, by Jerry Rostad.

NDSU has a strong history in the research of flax, going back to Prof. Henry L. Bolley in the early 1900s.  His groundbreaking research into flax wilt, and development of disease resistant breeding led to North Dakota became a major flax producing state. This publication will be a great asset for research into the history of flax production in the region.

Consult the finding aid for H.L. Bolley's papers to learn more about his research.
