The NDSU Archives is open for academic and public research; however, our collections do not circulate. Depending on their condition, materials from the collection may be reproduced. The NDSU Archives reserves the right to refuse to make reproductions if the original item is too fragile, if the request violates copyright law, or if the request cannot be fulfilled due to staffing or equipment concerns.
Duplication Services for Personal Use
Digital copies of photographs
- NDSU student, staff, or faculty per semester: $1 per image up to 10 images, $5 per image afterwards
- Non-affiliated users: $15 per image
Upon receipt of payment, digital copies up to 5MB will be emailed; larger files will be uploaded to Google Drive and a link will be sent.
Photocopies of Materials
- First 25 pages is $5.00. After first 25 pages, the fee is $.40 per page.
- Ledger size paper is $.80 per page.
Welk Music
- Minimum of $5.00. $.80 per page.
Marriage/Divorce/Naturalization/Obituary/Newspaper Article/Biography request
- Copy fees apply only to copy requests filled by archives staff. Minimum order fee is $5.00. Prices afterwards are calculated by size. Rush orders (less than one week) are double the listed fee.
- Obituaries, biographies: $5.00 per name
- Naturalization records: $5.00 per name
- Censuses: $5.00 per name
- Cass County marriage licenses: $5.00 per record
- Cass County Court records (civil, divorce, probate): Minimum fee is $5. After this, it is calculated by size.
- Digital copy of audio cassette to CD: $15.00
- Digital copy of video cassette to DVD: $20.00

Ordering
To request copies please email us at ndsu.archives@ndsu.edu and include the information you are seeking (i.e. marriage names, dates, record #, etc.). If you have any questions please email us or call us at 701-231-8914.
To order photographs, our form will need to be filled out and sent to the archives staff.
Once the request has been submitted, staff will respond to the patron with a price quote. A staff member will respond with an email explaining how to pay. Once confirmation of payment has been received by the staff, fulfillment of the order will take place.
Unless otherwise noted, fulfillment of the order will take place via emailing of documents (in PDF form) or photographs. In the event an order is too large to do as such, they will either be mailed by first class USPS mail or uploaded to our GoogleDrive and an email will be sent to download from there.
