The book Sioux Memory Gems, by Myrtle Miller Anderson, has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection. This poetry book was published in 1929, with illustrations by J. A. Anderson. The following comes from the preface of the book:
“In our book the picture writings are photographs taken from real life while the author and illustrator were visiting Indian villages. They have lived among the Sioux for many years, have been able to get in touch with the more intimate side of their lives and gather little memory gems from time to time.”
