Finding Aid

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 0

Scope and content

From the Collection: The photographic prints in the Every Place with a Name Photograph Collection were used in the publication of a book by the same title, published by State Historical Society of North Dakota. The collection is organized alphabetically by location for each subject except for a few photos that didn’t have a location identified in their description; therefore, they go alphabetically by the last name of the person identified in the photo. If unidentified they are organized by subject. There are also a few photos that were in North Dakota History: Jounal of The Northern Plans, v. 56, no. 1.

The photographers who documented this project in 1976 were Todd Strand, Fred Schumacher, DuWayne Rude, Bruce Severy, Jerry Anderson, Ken Jorgensen, James Dean, and Mark Strand. A copy of the book Every Place with a Name can be found in the Institute for Regional Studies book collection (F637 .E93 1993).
