Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection contains one cardboard mount with a photograph of Gilbert William Davis dress in suit and tie with medals, one of them a Masonic medal, transposed with him dressed in Civil War military uniform, holding a rifle mounted on the top, and mounted on the bottom is a check with the following "Interior. United States Pension Agency. Milwaukee, Wis. Feb. 3, 1905. Assistant Treasurer of the United States, New York, N.Y. Pay to the order of Gilbert W. Davis, Thirty One & 33/100 Dollars. E Solberg, Clerk for Edwin D. Coe $31.33. No. 212835". A picture of P. H. Sheridan is printed on the check with "This check should be presented for payment within 90 days" printed underneath.
