File — Box: 1, Folder: 4
Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The survey of Crosby, North Dakota was completed by Althea Varnum Reed as a project at North Dakota Agricultural College. The survey includes a blueprint of the town, questionnaires, maps, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Subjects include history, pioneer experiences, schools, farming, athletics, exhibits, music, social functions, and organizations. Divide County was originally part of Williams County. It was organized in 1910. The county seat was located at Crosby. It was too much of a grade for the Great Northern Railway to build to the original site of the town, so Crosby moved east to the railroad. The first train arrived in Crosby in 1907.
