Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Dr. John B. James Papers consist of correspondence, account ledgers, and his physician’s office record of births. The correspondence was taken from the account ledger and consists of scattered letters from patients who are having difficulty paying their bills. Some of the last letters are with a collection agency. The accounts ledgers cover the period of 1920-1943 and are very complete, giving detailed information on all accounts. The Physician’s Office Record of Births books contain copies of the birth certificates which Dr. James sent to the North Dakota State Department of Health.
