The End Notes contains footnote citations for each of the chapters in Plains Folk. The one exception is the chapter devoted to Scandinavians written by Playford Thorson, for which there are no known
footnotes. At the end of each chapter is a ‗Bibliographic Essay‘ listing books and articles likely used by the author in writing the chapter. The copy of the published Plains Folk in this collection has the corresponding number of each footnote labeled in pen on the appropriate page. In the contents listing below the number of citations for each chapter is given in parentheses.
